In silver, measuring 36. 7 mm in diameter, dark patina, edge nicks, light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Siege of Silistria took place during the Crimean War. In this action, Russian forces besieged the Ottoman fortress of Silistria. While initially successful, the Russians were forced after several weeks to abandon the siege and retreat due to political pressure. This
