That year, Brown released the album Jam Session with Clark Terry and Maynard Ferguson on the EmArcy label and played on three records with Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers. Two years later, Brown died in a tragic car accident at the age of 25. To pay homage to the late jazz great, his hometown of Wilmington, DE began to organize the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in 1993.
