A bronzed war alloy cross; the obverse inscribed with the cipher of Friedrich, with an oak wreath between the arms of the cross; the reverse inscribed VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (German Merit in War), on a loop for suspension; measuring 37. 33 mm (w) x 37. 40 mm (h); weighing 17. 4 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
